About MVP Plumbing

About MVP Plumbing

A licensed master plumber in Baytown since 2018. Small company, real photos, and honest answers — including when the answer is that you do not need the work.

MVP Plumbing LLC is a licensed master plumbing company in Baytown, Texas. Justin Hughes started it in 2018. We do residential and commercial service and repair across Baytown, Mont Belvieu and the surrounding area, under Master Plumber License MPL 38224.

We are not the biggest plumbing outfit around here and we are not trying to be.

What we actually offer

A licensed master plumber who will look at your problem, tell you plainly what is wrong, and tell you what we would do if it were our own house.

That last part includes the times when the answer is that it does not need fixing.

Job notes · Chambers County

A customer called about a slow-draining tub. We pulled the overflow faceplate, ran a small drum machine, and out came a hairball. After that the cable ran through smoothly with nothing catching. It was their first stoppage in six or seven years.

We offered a camera inspection and then told them that if it was our house we would not bother. The hairball came out, the cable ran clean, and nothing about the job pointed to a bigger problem. They would only have been paying an extra charge for a picture of a working pipe.

The camera is a genuinely useful tool and we use it constantly — on a Clear Lake job it is exactly what told us a line had lost its fall and pulled apart underground, which justified tunneling instead of guessing. The difference is whether the job calls for it.

We price the situation, not the part

Two customers, both with Moen fixtures, got opposite recommendations from us in the same month.

The first had a leaking two-handle tub valve. Parts to rebuild it were several days out, and the repair would have cost nearly as much as replacing it. No remodel planned. We fitted a new Moen valve with a warranty behind it.

The second had a dripping faucet and a full bathroom remodel coming in a year or two. Moen cartridges carry a lifetime warranty, so the part cost nothing. They paid for our time and kept their money for the remodel.

Same brand, different advice. The difference was their situation, not what we felt like selling that week.

We try to leave houses easier to work on

We try to leave houses easier to work on than we found them.

In a lot of Baytown houses the tub or shower valve backs onto a closet. When it does, we cut the sheetrock from the closet side and fit an access panel rather than patching it. Costs nothing extra now. Next time anything needs doing back there, the plumber opens a panel instead of cutting your wall again.

Where the valve allows it, we cut in from the front through the tile instead, measured so the escutcheon covers the opening — because matching fifty-year-old tile is close to impossible and a tile setter is a second trade to pay for.

Same thinking elsewhere: isolation valves on water treatment equipment so it can be serviced without cutting pipe. New sewer pipe anchored into the slab so the backfill cannot create a new belly. A working shutoff valve and insulation on every above-ground water line repair, because those two things are what cause the next emergency.

Press fittings instead of a torch

On copper we use Viega MegaPress — a cold, mechanical joint made with a press tool rather than a flame. On a wood-sided house in Beach City, and in attics packed with timber and insulation, that is the difference between a routine repair and an open flame next to your framing.

The work nobody sees

A recurring part of our business is work other contractors and in-house maintenance teams legally cannot do themselves: permits, gas pressure tests, city inspections, meter relocations. All performed under MPL 38224.

A facility maintenance company whose in-house plumber is not licensed. A driveway contractor who needed a water meter moved before he could pour. A car dealership whose own maintenance team could not stop a leak on a two-inch main. See master plumber for contractors.

Real photos only

Every photograph on this site is real MVP work — our jobs, our tools, our people. No stock photography, no generic plumber images, no AI-generated pictures.

Where a page has no photo yet, you will see a marked gap rather than a bought image. We fill those in as the jobs come in. One generic photo would undercut every real one next to it, and the real ones are the point.

What we do not do

  • New construction. We are service, repair and remodel.
  • Lend our license. A permit pulled under MPL 38224 means we did the work. Contractors ask; the answer is no.
  • Sell you a camera inspection to prove a pipe works.
  • Publish an APR. Financing rates and lender criteria change, and a stale number is worse than no number.

Common questions

How long have you been in business?

Since 2018. MVP Plumbing LLC operates under Master Plumber License MPL 38224.

Who will actually turn up?

We are a small company. When you call, you are talking to the people who do the work, not a call centre passing a job to whoever is nearest.

Do you do new construction?

No. We are a service and repair company, residential and commercial. That includes remodel plumbing - rough-ins, moving supply and drain lines, tub-to-shower conversions - but not ground-up new builds.

What areas do you cover?

Baytown and Mont Belvieu are home. We work across Chambers County, the east side of Harris County and the bay area, and we travel further for commercial work.

Are you insured?

Yes. If you need certificates for a commercial job or a property manager's file, ask when you call and we will send them over.

Why are there no stock photos on this site?

Because every photo on this site is real MVP work. If a page has no photo yet, it goes up without one and we fill the gap when the job comes in. One generic image would undercut all the real ones.
